Volunteering with WRAP

Make a Difference in the Lives of Survivors

We believe that volunteers play a crucial role in supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as families. By dedicating your time and skills, you can make a direct impact on the lives of those in need and contribute to our mission of creating a safer and more supportive community. We offer various volunteer opportunities to suit different interests and availability.

1. College and Graduate Student Internships:

  • Join our internship program, tailored for college and graduate students looking to gain valuable hands-on experience in the field of domestic violence and sexual assault services.

  • As an intern, you'll work closely with our experienced team, providing support to survivors, assisting with advocacy efforts, and contributing to our programs and initiatives.

  • Contact Danielle McHaney, for more information about our internship program.

2. Safe Hope Center Donation Processing:

  • Volunteer at the Safe Hope Center in Jackson and help with processing donations.

  • By organizing and sorting donated items, you directly contribute to providing essential resources for survivors and their families.

  • If you are interested in helping at the Safe Hope Center, contact Barbara Hobson for details.

3. Denim and Pearls Fundraiser and Special Events:

  • Assist with our annual Denim and Pearls fundraiser by helping with event setup, providing on-site support during the event, and assisting with cleanup afterward.

  • Additionally, we have various special events throughout the year where your volunteer assistance will be invaluable.

  • If you'd like to volunteer at Denim and Pearls or other special events, contact Jenci Spradlin.

4. Direct Support to Survivors (Long-Term Commitment):

  • Volunteering in direct support to survivors requires a longer-term commitment and involves working closely with our advocates and professionals. This commitment would be at least 10 hours per week.

  • This role requires specialized training to maintain confidentiality, provide emotional support, and empower survivors on their journey to healing and recovery.

  • If you are interested in a longer-term commitment with WRAP, contact Jenci Spradlin for details.
