Domestic Violence and Alcohol and Drug Use/Abuse

Victims of domestic violence are sometimes forced to drink or take drugs by their abusers and, in some cases, begin to abuse or become addicted to those substances.  Still other victims resort to alcohol or drugs to address such symptoms of abuse as depression or anxiety, and they, too, may begin to abuse or become addicted to the substances they use to escape the pain of an abusive relationship.  Whatever the cause, help is available in Tennessee.
